ಗೌರಿ ಹಾಗು ಗಣೇಶ ಹಬ್ಬ ೨೦೨೫
ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವನ್ನು ಅಮೆರಿಕಾದ ಗ್ರೇಟರ್ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಗೌರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗಣೇಶ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಅದ್ದೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಿದೆವು. ಈ ಹಬ್ಬವು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿಯುವಂತೆ, ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷದಂತೆ, ಈ ಬಾರಿಯು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಭಕ್ತರು ಸೇರಿ, ದೇವಿ ಗೌರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗಣೇಶನ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಪಡೆದರು.
ಗೌರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗಣೇಶನಿಗೆ ಭವ್ಯವಾದ ಅಲಂಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತಿ, ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಿದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳು, ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದವು. ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹ, ಭಕ್ತಿಗೀತೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ ವಾತಾವರಣ, ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮರುಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದವು. ಮಕ್ಕಳ ‘ಭಜನೆ’ ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯರ ಭಕ್ತಿಗೀತೆಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದವು.
ಭಕ್ತರು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯ ಭಾವದಿಂದ ಗೌರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗಣೇಶನನ್ನು ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಡಲು ‘ವಿಸರ್ಜನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ’ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು. ವಿಸರ್ಜನೆಯ ನಂತರ, ಹಬ್ಬದ ಊಟವು ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿತು. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ‘ಮೋದಕ ಪ್ರಸಾದ’ ದೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಯಾರಿಸಿದ ಈ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಊಟವು ನಾಲಿಗೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ರುಚಿಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿತು. ಸದಸ್ಯರು ವಿವಿಧ ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳಿಂದ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿ, ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಆಚರಣೆಯು, ಅಮೆರಿಕಾದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ‘ಗ್ರೇಟರ್ ಸೇಂಟ್ ಲೂಯಿಸ್’ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಮುದಾಯವು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಲವಾದ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಬೇರುಗಳ ಜ್ಞಾಪಕವಾಗಿದ್ದಿತು. ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಭರಿತ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ, ಈ ಗಣೇಶ ಹಬ್ಬವು ಕೇವಲ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಅನುಭವವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಐಕ್ಯತೆ, ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭವೂ ಆಗಿತ್ತು.
Gowri & Ganesha Celebration 2025
As usual, this years Gowri and Ganesha habba had the largest turnout of the year with member devotees coming in large numbers to offer their devotion and seek the blessings of thayi Gowri and lord Ganesha.
A grand decoration was set to honor Gowri and Ganesha, while the members and families celebrated this year’s Ganesha Festival with great devotion, enthusiasm, and cultural pride. Traditional rituals and heartfelt prayers brought an atmosphere of togetherness and positivity. The beautifully adorned idol, the rhythmic chanting, and the sacred atmosphere truly recreated the festive spirit. The “bhajane” from the children and devotional songs by adults enriched and highlighted the richness of our Kannada traditions.
Member devotees participated with gratitude of being blessed, in the “immersion ceremony” to end-off Gowri and Ganesha for the year. The immersion was followed by the festive food, adding warmth and joy to the celebration. A grand feast highlighted by the “modaka prasada” was mouthwatering … to say the least. It was heartening to see members across generations come together, strengthening community bonds while passing on traditions to the younger generation.
The celebration stood as a reminder of the strong cultural roots the Kannada community continues to nurture in our hometown of the “Greater St. Louis” neighborhood in the USA. With the collective effort of volunteers and the enthusiastic participation of members, the Ganesha Festival was not only a spiritual experience but also a memorable occasion of unity, joy, and cultural pride.
